These are my favorite videos that I like the best!
I hope you guys enjoy it too!

isn't it cute?

Hi eveyone! Look at this picture!
I want to keep these kinds of pets but because my parents say no, I can not keep them. I think this guy is a hamster, that I really want to keep. I heard that hamsters are very good at getting along with each other. I really want to but a male and a female and  make them lay babies that I can sell them later when they are big enough. It can maybe help earning money and also I can feel fun while keeping the pet.

I will ask my mom and dad when I go back home from GLPS. I will convince them to let me keep the pet as my companion and explain what benefits it gives to our house's economy.

Figure jumps!

Hi everyone! I am Kaysters and I would like to explain about jumps in figure skating

  • The toe loop jump is a toe jump that takes off from the back outside edge and lands on the same back outside edge (in other words, a toe-pick assisted loop jump, although the mechanics of the two jumps are very different). This is sometimes known in Europe as a cherry flip. Double or triple toe loops are often seen as the second jump of a combination. As solo jumps, they are most commonly entered from a three turn.

  • The Salchow jump (pronounced "sal-kow"), named for its originator Ulrich Salchow, is an edge jump. It takes off from a back inside edge and lands on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. Salchows are most often preceded by a forward outside 3 turn, but a mohawk entrance is not unusual.

  • The flip jump is a toe jump that takes off from a back inside edge and lands on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. A flip is usually preceded by a forward outside 3 turn or forward inside mohawk.

  • The Lutz jump, named for its originator Alois Lutz, is a toe jump that takes off from a back outside edge and lands on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. The lutz is a counter-rotated jump. Lutzes can often be identified by the long, backward diagonal glide preparation, though this is not necessary to do a lutz.

  • The Axel jump, named for its originator Axel Paulsen, is an edge jump launched on the forward outside edge and landed on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. Because it has a forward takeoff but lands backwards, a single axel actually has 1.5 rotations.

  • These are the simple jumps of figure skating. I hope you enjoyed it

    What is a figure skate?

    Hello everybody!
Today I would like to talk about what figure skates are

Figure skates differ from hockey skates most visibly in having a set of large, jagged teeth called toe picks (also called "toe rakes") on the front of the blade. The toe picks are used primarily in jumping and should not be used for stroking or spins. Blades are mounted to the sole and heel of the boot with screws. Typically, high-level figure skaters are professionally fitted for their boots and blades at a reputable skate shop in their area.

Ice dancers' blades are about an inch shorter in the rear than those used by skaters in other disciplines, to accommodate the intricate footwork and close partnering in dance. Dancers' blades also do not have the large toe pick used for jumping. Hard plastic skate guards are used when the skater must walk in his or her skates when not on the ice. The guard protects the blade from dirt or material on the ground that may dull the blade. Soft blade covers called soakers are used to absorb condensation and protect the blades from rust when the skates are not being worn

I hope you guys got to know about figure skates
    Thank you

    The new skills post!

Hello everyone, I am the blogger Kaysters again. Today I would like to compare and contrast 3 different camps that I have been recommended. There are Camp Big Apple, Ranch West Camp, and Head Start Splash camp. I would like to find a camp that is the most suitable for me by comparing and contrasting all 3 camps.

Many people might want to learn English in foreign countries. Some of these programs might be beneficial but some might not.

The most important thing that I evaluate is whether parents follow me or not. The only camp that allows parents to come is the Head Start Splash. I have really bad homesickness. So if I am separated with my parents for at least 2 days, I feel homesick. However, if my parents follow me, it will be okay.

The other thing is which teachers teach me. Camp Big Apple has great professors who are Korean. The professors at least got a Masters degree from an American university. Some of them have Doctorate degree too. But I think those professors who teach university students won't be able to understand elementary students' minds. On the other hand, in Ranch West Camp, the classes are taught by recent graduates from the local university. This is not good because I think these teachers are having lack of experience so it is unappropriate. Both of the camps do not have the best teachers. Head Start Splash has local teachers with Bachelor's degrees and certificates to teach English as a second language. They have many experiences and also have certificates to teach English as a second language.

Camp Big Apple and Head Start Splash have too short or too long amount of time participating in the camp. However, Ranch West Camp is not as long as Head Start Splash but not as short as Camp Big Apple.

For these reasons, I think that Head Start Splash camp is the most appropriate camp for me because parents can follow me, and the teachers have many experiences and certificates to teach English as a second language.

    Skills Post 2

Hello everyone, I am Kaysters. Today I would like to Summarize & Paraphrase the article Shark Attacks from the hand-out and one article that I am interested in.

    1.Handout - Shark Attacks

    < Summarizing >

People sometimes get attacked by sharks when they go swimming in the ocean. However, when I meet a shark it will not always attack you. There are more chances to be struck by lightning or get drowned than getting attacked by sharks. If you are still worried about shark attacks there are few ways to reduce the chances of being attacked by a shark. First, traveling in groups is one way to reduce the risks. Sharks usually attack swimmers who are alone. Also, you have to stay away from the water if you have a cut because sharks are very good at smelling.

    < Paraphrasing - 6th paragraph >

To reduce the risks from getting attacked by sharks, I should swim in groups because sharks attack solo swimmers than people swimming together. Staying away from the ocean is a good way if I have a wound. This is because sharks have excellent ability to smell things.

    2. An Article that I am interested about

    < Article >
    http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/aug/09/the-new-mary-is-poppins-fresh/

    < Summarizing >

Steffanie Leigh  has got the lead who is 24 years old in the musical Mary Poppins. She personally thinks that she can not ever be like Julie Andrews even if she is good. The script was made by the book by P.L .Travers and the songs and moments were from the movie. This was definitly a performance for all people because there is a 11-year-old actress. She had achieved her dream that she had since she was a teen. She is  loving being part of a community that loved and supported the arts so much.

    <Paraphrasing - 3rd paragraph>]

Article : “I haven’t really worried about it,” said Leigh from a tour stop in Costa Mesa. “And I think it’s because the show’s creative team has never asked me to be like Julie Andrews, which is very nice of them. I play Mary with my own spin because there’s just no way I could ever be Julie Andrews.”

:Steffanie had not been anxious about it and she thinks the reason is because the team never asked her to be like Julie Andrews but just do it her way. This was told by Steffanie in a tour stop in Costa Mesa.

    What the world eats^^

Hello everybody! I am the blogger Kaysters. I would like to explain about the photo that I have seen in a slide show in google. These photoes were about how much food that family eats in one week. I will compare the pictures of the Caven family ,California, United States and the Aboubakar family of Breidjing Camp of chad.

First, if I see in the picture, there are a lot of food that they are eating. If I compare this photo to the African family photo, it is a huge amount. Also, because it is a family in one of the strongest countries in the world, there are a lot of food. They mostly are food for the children.

Second, their emotions. They look very happy not like the people in Africa. They have enough food and they have nothing to concern about because they are not going to die soon like the Africans who can not eat a lot. I think our family might have the similar amount of food because me and my younger sister eats a lot of snacks at home and my mom always makes new dishes everyday.

Lastly, the family's population. The American family has 4 people when the African family has 6 people. If we think normally, the family who has 6 people has to have more food than the family who has 4 people. However, this flipped over. the family with less people are having more food! By this, I could know how poor Africans are.

In conclusion, by comparing the two families, the American and the African, I found out that America is richer economically than Africa looking at the amount of food, the family's face, and the population of the family.

    skills post 1

Hello Everyone, I am the blogger Kaysters again. Today, I would like to compare and contrast 3 different camps that I have been recommended. There are Camp Big Apple, Ranch West camp, and Head start splash camp. I would like to find a camp that is the most suitable to me by comparing all 3 camps.

-a three week intensive Academic English camp
-focuses on building vocabulary and math skills
    -prepare for exams like SAT
-taught by professors that has at least a Masters degree from an American university.
    -students live in dormitories

-four week camp in rural Canada
-can choose which subjects they would like to study from among;Math,Art,History,Science,Politics,World Cultures,Music,Computer Programming and literature.
-taught by recent graduates from the local University
-a home-stay situation for the duration of the camp

-five week camp located ten minutes from the beach on the island of Cebu
    -international school
-local teachers with Bachelor's degrees and certificated to teach English as a Second Language
-at least one parent must accompany and provied with a small apartment

Many people might want to learn English in foreign countries. Some of these prgrams might be beneficial but some might not. The three camps are Camp Big Apple, Ranch West Camp, and Head Start Splash.

The most important thing that I valuate is whether my parents follow me or not. In contrast, the only camp that allows parents to come is the Head Start Splash. I have really bad homesickness so if I am separated with my parents for at least 2 days, I feel homesick. However, if my parents follow me, it will be okay.

The other thing is which teachers teach me. Camp Big apple has great professors which are Korean who at least got a Masters degree(some have their Doctorate)from an American university. But I think that professors who teach University students won't be able to understand elementary students' minds. On the other hand, in Ranch West camp, the classes are taught by recent graduates from the local University. This however, is not good because I think these teachers are having lack of experience so I don't think it is appropriate. Both of the camps do not have appropriate camps but Head Start Splash has local teachers with Bachelor's degrees and certificated to teach English as a Second language. They have a lot of experience and had certificated to teach English as a Second language.

I mention a lot about the length. Camp Big Apple and Head Start Splash have too short and too long amount of time. However, Ranch West Camp is not as long as Head start splash but not as short as Camp Big Apple.

For these reasons, I think that Head Start Splash camp is the most appropriate for me even though Ranch west camp had one benefit because my parents can follow and the teachers have a lot of experience and certificated to teach English as a Second language.
